Anyway, now that I think about it, I feel that there's little point of splitting
display submissions to regular and coloured categories.
Many of you might argue that monochrome artworks can never match up to coloured
ones. This is simply not true.
IMO, if you put enough effort to your work, you stand a chance to win. After
all, it never hurts to challenge yourself. MOST IMPORTANTLY, BE ORIGINAL.
I feel that that is the most important essence in any artwork, even fanarts
(maybe you think I'm a hypocrite, as you can see that I've ripped off many works
in the past, but it is what I realized recently. Feel free to wipe my wining
submissions from the gallery if you want, I don't really care for that
anymore)
And I feel happy seeing that most of our members are coming up with their very
own originality.
So I hope I could get some feedbacks for my opinion. It's another way to keep
this group alive after all.
Um, just so you guys know, I won't be hanging much around here now, and I won't
be posting my stuff here either. But I'll drop by just to check messages though,
so feel free to PM =)
Well... It's not that copying other people's work is wrong (in fact it's a good
practice), but winning the monthly display with a work not your own just doesn't
sound right.
I just wished people participating in the display would put a bit of effort so
that their work look more original. That also means that you have the bragging
rights, and you would have felt more satisfaction for winning.
Something has been bothering me with how things are running here. It seems that
there are members who copied existing artworks and entered them into the monthly
display (not to mention some of them actually won). So, I was thinking, this is
a doujinshi club, so I was expecting more original stuff.
It is understandable that most of us do not have the skill, but seriously I
think originality comes first. Even if it's fanart, members should put in a
little more effort so that it's not a complete rip off (sorry if I'm harsh) of
original works. Maybe some of you don't have your own style yet, but even small
things like pose, expressions, gestures, clothes, colour atc can be original
too.

don't get it.....why always we rely on colours? and i'm pretty sick of the use
of jalur gemilang in many items....
we are actually stereotyping that and
it's getting pretty lame.....
can't we use something else to symbolize malaysia? say, malaysian landmarks like
buildings, culture, and so on that other country doesn't have?

sigh.....looks like i'm not in a mood after coming back from school.....
Well, each colour symbolizes something about our country, most prominently the
colour yellow (colour of our royalty, wish it was purple though ). I
mean, light blue does not really show anything special about our country So yeah, I think we should use the colours that shows our country for what it
is, I don't think we're stereotyping anything. We don't have to use the actual
image of the Jalur Gemilang
Of course, that's not the only thing we should consider. Like what you said
Koko-chan, landmarks, culture, all that - we need to show the world what
beautiful Malaysia is like! (Minus all the rubbish that we throw about )
Hmmm you know what I think we should all work on the layout together, and not
just count on one person to make it. We can all contribute to it, not just the
admins but everyone else too. Suggestions, contributions - anything. Where's the
unity people?
*coughs* I don't know why I feel so bersemangat today *cough*
Oh and I guess we should put in some new contents for the group as well Like...maybe we could feature a different state every month? Show all the
good things about each state? History, culture, famous buildings, local music,
etc. We can even promote VMY2007 further
Some random anime girl with malaysian colours might work...
um...... sorry for being dead for so long.... but anyway, good to know there are
more members here now... college's killing me too, but i'm having fun too.
lol.
i do want to enter the competition, but i'm not sure if i'm capable of taking
the others on T . T....
Hey guys! Just droppin' by.

Neway, have a nice day.
Why isn't anyone participating in the monthly display..?
No contests anymore? =(
It's quite nice.... Must be the best so far =D

Sorry this isn't my usual standard, but I could do with some critique.
I see people posting their art on the guestbook rather than the monthly display.
Wouldn't it be nicer if you guys compete? Come on, just for fun.
